Adipex slimming tabletAdipex slimming pill is another sympathomimetic amine, which is likened to an amphetamine. Also known as an anorexigenic drug, it is considered an appetite suppressant. With the stimulation of the central nervous system, Adipex increases one’s heart rate and blood pressure while it decreases the person’s appetite.
 
Adipex is also known in other brand names which include Zantryl, Fastin, Oby-Cap, Panshape M, Pro-Fast HS, Teramine, Pro-Fast SA, Phentride, Pro-Fast SR, Ionamin, Obephen, Oby-Trim and Phentercot.
 
Since it is similar to amphetamines, the action of Adipex is not far from those of amphetamines. It affects the brain in such a way that it stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. This action to the nerve and brain increases one’s heart rate and blood pressure. What is being believed is that Adipex’s appetite suppressing action is from the combination of this action on the nervous system with other metabolic effects that are still not known.  
 
As an appetite suppressant in treating obesity it is taken as a diet and exercise supplement for short-term use. It may be prescribed if someone fails to progress on a diet and exercise program. Also, it is recommended if one’s obesity is caused by an eating behavior, without any abnormality in his or her hormones or metabolism. Alongside with it is being taken as an appetite suppressant, it is used together with behavior therapy to manage obesity.
 
It is marketed in two forms:
  • Tenuate tablets for immediate release and;
  • Tenuate Dospan tablets for controlled release
 
Since it has effects on the central nervous system, it can be habit forming or very addictive. Abuse of Adipex diet pills and other amphetamines is associated with extreme psychological dependence and social dysfunction. To know whether one person has succumbed to such abuse aggressiveness, hyperactivity, irritability, skin changes, and other personality changes may be observed on the person. 
 
What are the bad Effects of Adipex Diet Pills?
 
Adipex, like any diet pills, is not manufactured without any lurking downside. It is important to note that any diet pills have side effects. There are two mechanisms that produce the side effects. One is that which is related to the stimulation of the drug to the sympathetic nervous system, those set of side effects include the following:
 
Blurring of vision, dizziness, headaches, restlessness, sleeplessness, tremors.
 
Those abovementioned side-effects may result in high blood pressure and increased heart rate. Also, diarrhea, constipation, dryness of the mouth, nausea, stomach pain, altered sexual drive, and increased urination.

  • those people who have allergic reactions to this kind of drugs
  • those with heart disease, glaucoma, and high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis
  • those who have taken MAOI or monoamine oxidase inhibitor, e.g., isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine, or phenelzine in the last 14 days
  • those who were addicted to drugs or have succumbed to alcoholism
  • those who are nursing a baby
  • those with thyroid problems
  • those with anxiety disorder
  • those who are epileptic
  • those who have diabetes
